Fixi Inaugural Commute

Last night I picked up the Fixi, a third and final prototype by Matt at Solarbike. You can read the story of the Fixi on his site.

On the way to work had 20-41kph gusts, so I used the motor excessively. GPS said 45min, 22kph average speed.

Going home also against a strong wind, the battery ran out after the first 6km, leaving 11km with a fixed gear heavier bike against the wind on my first outing! GPS said 52min, 19kph average speed. Mentally it was a longer tougher ride, my body ached at the touch of the seat, and against the wind fixed gearing unfit rider, just sucked your momentum making it a slow struggle.
